TUSCALOOSA, Alabama, October 5. Auburn Aquatics sprinter Robert Howard will head across the state for college after verbally committing to swim for the University of Alabama next fall. Howard is ranked second in the 2015 recruiting class in the state of Alabama by Collegeswimming.com.

Howard’s best times include a 20.61 in the 50 free, 45.37 in the 100 free and 1:39.16 in the 200 free. He’s also a strong backstroker, with a 51.56 in the 100 back and 1:50.77 in the 200 back. In long course, Howard is knocking on the door to two Olympic Trials cuts in the 50 free (23.81) and 100 free (51.80).

The addition of Howard should give the Crimson Tide some great relay options in all three freestyle relays and both medley relays.
