RIT vs. SUNY Fredonia

FREDONIA, New York, October 30. THE RIT men's swimming and diving team improved to 2-0 in 2010-11 after winning a close contest over SUNY Fredonia, 152-148 on Saturday afternoon. RIT won seven different events on the afternoon.

RIT's 4 x 100-freestyle relay team of Mitchell Cook, Ryan Marchant, Tristan Hudak, and Kevin Christiansen secured the team's victory by winning the final event of the afternoon with a time of 3:19.99.

The Tigers swept the first two spots in the 200-yard medley relay and never looked back. The team of Eric Madar, Bryan Minicucci, Michael Kramer and Ryan Marchant (Norwich, NY/Norwich High School) won the race in a time of 1:42.45.

Kevin Hom (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and Michael Kramer, each won a pair of individual events for RIT. Hom took home first in the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:15.95, and the 500-yard freestyle in 4:58.02.

Kramer annexed the 100-yard butterfly in 0:55.20 and 200-fly in 2:05.44.

Marchant and Hudak finished in a dead-heat for the win in the 50-freestyle with a time of 22.87.

Evan Wendt (Norwich, NY/Norwich High School) won the three-meter diving event with a score of 268.90.

The Tigers return to action on Friday, Nov. 5, as they host Alfred at Judson Pool. The meet gets underway at 4 p.m.
