Rhode Island Completes Hosting Duties at Harold Anderson Invite

KINGSTON, Rhode Island, December 6. THE Rhode Island swimming and diving teams hosted the 11th annual Harold Anderson Invitational this past weekend, Dec. 1-2. As a team, the Rhody men remained perfect at the meet, winning their 11th-consecutive Harold Anderson team title with first place finishes in 16-of-20 events. The URI women, led by sophomore Kelly Mohr's (Meriden, Conn.) two second-place dives, placed third overall.

On the men's side, the Rams were led by junior Ryan Sheatsley (Allentown, Pa.) and freshman Gerard Donlevy (Lake Grove, N.Y.). Sheatsley set meet records with a 4:08.85 in the 400-yard IM and a 1:54.51 in the 200-yard butterfly and also placed first in four individual races while swimming a leg on the first-place finishing 200-yard freestyle relay team. Donlevy, who won two individual races, also contributed to four relay wins. In all, 11 different Rams combined for 12 individual wins and four relay victories.

For the women, Mohr placed second in both the 1-meter dive (201.05) and the 3-meter dive (185.15) while junior Cassandra Mizia (Manchester, Conn.) finished second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.14) and third in the 100-yard freestyle (55:32). Mizia also swam a leg in the 400-yard freestyle relay, where URI finished third in 3:42.19.
