PHOENIX, Arizona, February 12. TODAY'S live edition of The Morning Swim Show featured an interview with the newest national high school record holder, and a talk with his current and future coaches.

In case you missed our live show (airing each weekday at 10:30 a.m. MST), you can watch the video below and see host Peter Busch's interview with Giles Smith of McDonogh School, who broke Joe Hudepohl's 17-year-old record in the 50 freestyle. Smith talks about the goals he set for the event at the beginning of the year and why he picked the University of Tennessee as his college choice.

Smith's current coach, Scott Ward, talks about training Smith and what talents he saw in his swimmer at age 10. Also, University of Tennessee head coach John Trembley joins the show to talk about Smith and how he will contribute to the team dynamic.

The show concludes with a brief clip of music from an up-and-coming band called The Culprits. The band is made of three high school swimmers in Tennessee who have recently recorded a demo CD of original songs.
