Relive February 11 LIVE edition of The Morning Swim Show: Mary DeScenza Talks About New American Record, Bouncing Back After Trials; Jack Bauerle Discusses Training Mary DeScenza; Jovan Vavic on USC Water Polo

PHOENIX, Arizona, February 11. TODAY’S live edition of The Morning Swim Show featured an interview with American record holder Mary DeScenza, coach Jack Bauerle and University of Southern California water polo coach Jovan Vavic.

In a live webcam interview, DeScenza talked with host Peter Busch about setting her new American record in the 200-yard butterfly, how she’s handled not making the 2008 Olympic team and what her goals are for this weekend’s Missouri Grand Prix. She also talked about her aspirations as a cook and pastry chef.

Busch also talked with DeScenza’s coach, Jack Bauerle, about training DeScenza and how he feels about his swimmer taking it one year at a time. He also gives us a preview of the University of Georgia’s prep for next week’s Southeaster Conference championships.

Jovan Vavic, the head coach of the men’s and women’s water polo teams at the University of Southern California, talked with Busch about this year’s crop on the women’s team and how the men’s NCAA victory last fall might translate to a victorious season for the women.
