PRIOR LAKE – Regan Smith, swimming for Lakeville North as a seventh-grader at the 2014 Minnesota Section 2AA Girls Swimming & Diving Championships, took down a pair of 11-12 U.S. National Age Group records.

Smith, 12, clocked a 55.42 in the 100-yard fly, which lowered the previous record of 55.51 set by Ella Eastin in 2010. That was good enough to win the finale at the high school meet.

Smith won another regional title with a 54.69 in the 100-yard back to break her own record of 55.20 set earlier this year on relay duty for South Metro Swim.

Smith also helped Lakeville North to third in the 200-yard medley relay with a 25.98 leadoff, while anchoring the team’s 400-yard free relay’s runner-up performance with a 52.55.
