The University of Southern California pulled off a major come-from-behind victory to defend their 800 free relay title, thanks in large part to the anchor leg swim by Reed Malone, who broke 1:32 in his swim. In an interview after the race, he and Cristian Quintero talk about overcoming N.C. State and Malone’s “super bomb” underwater dolphin kicks.

Quintero also details the close battle with Michigan’s Anders Nielsen in the final of the 200 free and the goal of breaking 1:32.
