TIBURON, California, October 4. THE third time was the charm as IX3 Sports’ Ashley Twichell spoke with SwimmingWorld.TV after her $10,000 victory at the RCP Tiburon Mile.

Twichell had previously taken second the past two years, and is currently training with a shoulder injury that has required rehab. Twichell initially attempted to draft off some of the stronger men, but fell back out of the pack and managed to power to the finish by herself.

A bit farther away, Olympic medalist Haley Anderson and Great Britain’s Keri-Anne Payne had a battle of their own going, but Twichell managed to take home the crown by a wide margin.

This was Twichell’s first major performance since joining friend and training partner Chloe Sutton on their move from Mission Viejo to Charlie Houchin’s IX3 Sports initiative in North Carolina.
