MIDLOTHIAN, Virginia, September 29. The Tennessee Lady Volunteers just picked up a big score for their medley relays as Quest Swimming’s Maddy Banic committed to head coach Matt Kredich today.

Banic, the second-ranked recruit in the State of Virginia and 61st in the entire class by CollegeSwimming.com, is an explosive athlete who turned in some phenomenal times at the NASA Junior National Championships in March.

Banic threw down a 24.76 in the 50-yard back and a 23.91 in the 50-yard fly, both times that should really impact the Lady Vols and their medley relay.

As for individual events, Banic also is strong in the 100-yard fly (54.39) and 100-yard back (54.21), both from the NASA meet as well.

She had an amazing breakthrough meet at NASA, posting more than a handful of lifetime bests in Florida.

Banic also posted a 23.21 in the 50-yard free as well as a 1:03.91 in the 100-yard breast.  With all that speed, it will be interesting once she finds a way to mix them all up for a sizzling IM.
