Queens University to Kick Off Week of Instagram Interaction With Swimming World

Over the past decade, Queens University of Charlotte dominated the Division II swimming scene, as its men’s and women’s program regularly capture NCAA championships. Now, the school is in a transition period to the Division I ranks and has joined the ASUN Conference. Down the road, it will be interesting to see if Queens can transfer its success in Division II to the Division I level.

As we move into October, Queens University will be the focus of several social-media posts on Swimming World channels. As part of Motivational Monday, Queens head coach Jeff Dugdale will appear via video on Swimming World’s Instagram story and answer the question: “What do you think makes the best athletes?” Dugdale has worked with dozens of elite athletes through the years, and his comments will provide insight into how individuals can surge to the top of their sports.

Two days later, several members of the Queens program will weigh in their preference for morning or afternoon practice as part of Would You Rather Wednesday. The responses will first be offered through a poll, and then posted to Instagram in video form.

On Friday, as a wrap to the week, Sarah Brown will take part in an Instagram Takeover, as she manages Swimming World’s Instagram account and takes followers behind the scenes of a day with the Royals. Brown is a sophomore at Queens who focuses on the breaststroke and individual medley events.
