Potomac Valley Senior Championships

FAIRFAX, Virginia. March 20. CURL Burke Swim Club dominated the Potomac Valley Short Course Yard Senior Championships at George Mason University's pool this past weekend.

Female high point winner, Kate Ziegler, from The Fish won five events individually, including the 100 free (50.67) 200 free (1:48.30), 500 free (4:40.68), 1000 free (9:37.29) and 1650 free (16:16.86).

SDS won three relays for the women including the 200 medley relay (1:49.46), 400 medley relay (3:54.55), and 400 free relay (3:35.44). Curl Burke Swim Club (CUBU) prevented SDS from sweeping the relays by winning the 800 free relay (7:51.43).

Male high point winner, Adam Pennington of The Fish won five events including the 200 free (1:41.92), 500 free (4:34.11), 1000 free (9:27.79), 1650 free (15:41.40), and 200 back (1:52.59).

Zachary Hayden was also a multiple event winner on the men's side winning the 100 breast (54.63), 100 back (50.41) and 100 free (44.15). Hayden's time in the 100 free broke the PVS Open Record.

CUBU men won three relays including the 400-medley relay (3:26.59), 400 free relay (3:06.90), and 800 free relay (7:00.83). MAKO swam to a win in the 200-medley relay (1:38.07).

Curl Burke Swim Club won the championships with 2094 points, Machine Aquatics came in second with 716 points, and Rockville Montgomery Swim Club came in third with 491.5 points.
