Poll of the Week: The Toughest Swim in the Triple Crown (Results)

PHOENIX, Arizona, September 20. WITH open water swimming season in full swing, and Diana Nyad’s swim from Florida to Cuba still making news, we wanted to get your thoughts on three well-known open water swims that make up what is called the Triple Crown of Swimming. Which if these did you think was harder to do: the Catalina Channel off the coast of California, the English Channel between England and France, or the swim around New York City’s Manhattan Island? With 62.50 percent of the vote, the English Channel was deemed the toughest swim, with the Catalina Channell far behind with 25 percent. The Manhattan Island swim rounded out voting with 12.50 percent.

Earlier this week we reported that Ryan Lochte’s reality show, “What Would Ryan Lochte Do,” was not getting a renewal for a second season. The first season, which aired this spring, was not seen by many people, with just 400,000 people on average watching each episode, as opposed to the 2 million that watch the other reality shows on the E! network. So, do you think Lochte’s show should have come back for a second go-round? You can place your vote on our home page at swimmingworld.com. The poll can be found on the right side of the home page. We’ll bring you the results of this poll on next Friday’s show.
