Poll of the Week: Best Meet in Arena Grand Prix (Results)

PHOENIX, Arizona, June 14. THE Arena Grand Prix series is complete, and we saw some very impressive swims at the six meets in the circuit over the past six months. Voters in our last poll said the Santa Clara stop was the most exciting, no doubt helped in part by the meet giving us some fast races, including Ryan Lochte's best meet of the season. In the poll, 54.35 percent said Santa Clara was the best meet, followed by Mesa, which got 25 percent of the votes. Charlotte was third with 14.13 percent and Orlando rounded out the voting with 6.52 percent.

Earlier this week, Australian Chloe McCardel was pulled from her attempt to swim from Cuba to Florida, a 103-mile stretch of water in the Atlantic Ocean that no one has been able to attempt without the aid of a shark tank. McCardel was stung numerous times by a large school of jellyfish, and in a press conference after the swim, she said she was not going to return for another try. That got us thinking: Is that swim impossible to complete unassisted? We want to know what you think, so go to swimmingworld.com and vote in the poll on the right side of the page. And if you think the swim is possible, tell us what you think needs to be done in order to complete it in the article associated with this poll question.
