Polish Short Course Grand Prix, Opole: Pawel Korzeniowski Has Good Showing

OPOLE, Poland, March 14. THE Polish Short Course Grand Prix held in Opole came to a close with Pawel Korzeniowski completing a strong meet.

Mirela Olczak won the women's 200 fly in 2:10.53, while Paula Zukowska (2:15.14) and Aleksandra Nowacka (2:16.40) finished second and third. Korzeniowski topped the men's 200 fly in 1:56.61. Marcin Paszek (2:04.19) and Pawel Werner (2:06.66) rounded out the top three.

Alicja Tchorz captured the women's 200 back in 2:11.63. Klaudia Nazieblo (2:14.58) and Maja Zawiszewska (2:15.62) placed second and third. Radoslaw Kawecki snatched the men's 200 back title in 1:52.84. Mateusz Wysoczynski (2:02.16) and Jakub Jonczyk (2:08.52) completed the podium.

Aleksandra Urbanczyk (2:30.25), Agnieszka Ostrowska (2:30.70) and Paulina Zachoszcz (2:30.79) topped the women's 200 breast, while Slawomir Kuczko (2:12.76), Adam Plutecki (2:14.00) and Mateusz Matczak (2:17.81) made up the top three in the men's 200 breast.

Katarzyna Wilk won the women's 200 free in 1:59.78, while Natalia Pawlaczek took second in 2:02.66. Katarzyna Zolnowska touched third in 2:04.59. Korzeniowski doubled up with a 1:47.77 in the men's 200 free. Maciej Hreniak (1:51.44) and Pawel Rurak (1:51.54) took second and third.

Olczak doubled with a 2:15.17 to win the women's 200 IM. Zukowska (2:16.37) and Tchorz (2:17.36) finished second and third. Jakub Jasinski topped the men's 200 IM in 2:03.38, while Matczak (2:04.30) and Kawecki (2:04.90) rounded out the top three.

Katarzyna Wilk claimed her second title with a 55.62 in the women's 100 free. Pawlaczek (57.47) and Sonia Bochynska (58.52) finished second and third. Korzeniowski won his third crown with a 50.26 in the men's 100 free. Pawel Werner (52.13) and Krzystof Wilk (53.03) took second and third.

Zachoszcz claimed the women's 100 breast in 1:10.75, while Ostrowska (1:12.72) and Paulina Szydlo (1:14.03) placed second and third. Adam Plutecki (1:01.66), Slawomir Kuczko (1:02.76) and Piotr Jachowicz (1:04.73) topped the men's 100 breast.

Tchorz captured the women's 100 back in 1:01.83, while Nazieblo finished second in 1:02.14. Zawiszewska completed the top three in 1:02.32. Kawecki won the men's 100 back in 52.74. Wysoczynski (56.01) and Jonczyk (57.75) finished second and third.

Agata Szmagalska snagged the women's 100 fly title in 1:05.09. Donata Kilijanska (1:05.40) and Dominika Wroblewska (1:07.41) touched second and third. Korzeniowski won his fourth title with a 54.55 in the men's 100 fly. Bartosz Wicieniewski (56.34) and Emil Bening (56.96) finished second and third.

Urbanczyk won the women's 100 IM in 1:02.13, while Katarzyna Wilk (1:05.20) and Monika Czerniak (1:07.80) placed second and third. Plutecki (56.20), Jasinski (57.61) and Jachowicz (57.86) posted a top-three finish in the men's 100 IM.

Zukowska (4:15.26), Katarzyna Zolnowksa (4:17.25) and Olczak (4:19.37) swept the podium in the women's 400 free, while Hreniak (3:52.24), Pielowski (3:55.09) and Rurak (3:57.70) paced the men's 400 free field.
