USA Swimming put on the 2018 Golden Goggles awards show Monday night in New York City with many of the best swimmers in the country on hand to celebrate the 2018 calendar year. Swimming World’s Diana Pimer was on the red carpet taking photos which can be viewed below.

Katie Ledecky and Ryan Murphy took home the Female and Male Athlete of the Year awards as it was Ledecky’s sixth time winning the award while it was Murphy’s first. Murphy also won race of the year for his 100 back at Pan Pacs.

Kathleen Baker also won female race of the year for her world record in the 100 back at this summer’s US Nationals.

Michael Andrew won the Breakout Performer of the Year award for his four national titles in 2018, as well as his gold medal in the 50 free at the Pan Pacific Championships.

Greg Meehan won his second straight Coach of the Year award as he led the likes of Ledecky, Ella EastinSimone ManuelKatie Drabot and Brooke Forde to the Pan Pac team that competed in Japan.

Micah Sumrall won the Perseverance Award for her comeback to swimming and for winning the 200 breaststroke at the 2018 Pan Pacs.

Murphy, Andrew WilsonCaeleb Dressel and Nathan Adrian won the relay performance of the year for the 4×100 medley relay team that won gold at the Pan Pacs this summer.
