Phelps Meets Another Record Holder on Tour of China

BEIJING, China, April 12. ON a tour of China as a leadup to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Michael Phelps had the chance to meet another world-record holder when he was introduced to Liu Xiang. Phelps, who won seven gold medals at the recent World Championships in Melbourne, met the man who holds track and field's global standard in the 110-meter hurdles.

On Tuesday, Phelps conducted a clinic at the Western Academy in Beijing and has helped promote the Special Olympics during his Chinese Tour. Teaming in a relay race with Special Olympians, Phelps led his squad to a victory over a team that was aided by Katie Hoff, who set a world record in the 400 individual medley at the World Champs.
