Paul Biedermann Sets European Record in 800 Freestyle

ESSEN, Germany, November 27. PAUL Biedermann shot down the European record in the 800 freestyle at the German Short Course Championships today.

Biedermann clocked a time of 7:35.23 to set the standard, while Christian Hein finished second in 7:48.24. Biedermann cleared the standard set by Jorg Hoffman back in 1997.

In other competition, Theresa Michalak grabbed the women's 400 IM in 4:36.83, while Poland's Lukasz Wojt won the men's 400 IM in 4:06.56. Yannick Lebherz finished second in the event with a 4:09.05 to set the German record previously set by Jirka Letzin in 1999.

Nadine Pastor walked away with the women's 1500 free crown with a time of 16:30.16, while Isabelle Harle placed second in 16:34.91.
