Paralympic Swimmer Jessica Long Named Finalist for Sportswoman of the Year

PHOENIX, Arizona, August 15. RECENTLY, the Women's Sports Foundation named Paralympic swimmer Jessica Long as a finalist for the 2007 Sportswoman of the Year award. The foundation evaluated nominations from various sports organizations and individuals based on nominees' performances from Aug. 1, 2006 to July 31, 2007.

Past swimming-related recipients of the accolade include Natalie Coughlin and Erin Popovich.

This prestigious award will be presented to one winner in an individual sport and one in a team sport at the Annual Salute to Women in Sports Awards Dinner on Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.
