Pac-12 Women’s 200 Backstroke

While it was no surprise that Isabelle Stadden claimed the top seed in in the 200 backstroke, the surprise was the Cal senior was not alone.

Stadden and Stanford sophomore Natalie Mannion tied for the top seed in the 200 backstroke, both getting to the wall in 1:52.80.

They were both NCAA B cuts, though Stadden has swam an A cut earlier this season. Her best time of the year is 1:49.21.

Mannion’s best time going into this race was 1:52.42, but it will be interesting to see who has the most left in the tank after a long meet.

UCLA sophomore Rosie Murphy took the third seed in 1:53.45, ahead of Cal’s Mia Motekaitis (1:53.99) and USC freshman Macky Hodges (1:54.51).

Utah landed two in the finals with Norah Hay taking sixth (1:55.42) ahead of Summer Stanfield (1:56.27). Washington State’s Kiana Swain grabbed the eighth spot to round out the finalists.
