Ornstedt Decides to Call it Quits

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, August 23. ACCORDING to reports out of Denmark, Louise Ornstedt is heading into retirement. The backstroke specialist, reports indicate, has lost her desire to put in the necessary training required to be a top-flight athlete. Ornstedt is the Danish record holder in the 50 backstroke (28.68), 100 back (1:00.48) and 200 back (2:11.15).

During her career, Ornstedt was a regular on the international circuit, winning a silver medal in the 100 backstroke at the 2003 World Championships in Barcelona. A year later, at the Olympic Games in Athens, she advanced to the final of the 100 back, where she placed seventh.
