Olympic Trials Qualifier Elle Scott Joins Cal’s Loaded Class of 2025

NEW COMMIT: The University of California, Berkeley has received a new verbal commitment for its growing Class of 2029 from Elle Scott, a versatile Olympic Trials qualifier out of Charlotte, North Carolina.

She will arrive in Berkeley along with Ella CosgroveAnnie JiaTeagan O’DellClaire Weinstein and Alex Shackell.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“It is with great excitement that I announce my commitment to further my academic and swim careers at the University of California, Berkeley! I thank God, my family, and many friends for all of their support along the way. I am also especially appreciative of both my past and present coaches. Lastly, I would like to thank Coach Durden and Coach Marsh for this amazing opportunity.  I can’t wait for the journey ahead! Go Bears!”

Scott does her club swimming with SwimMAC Carolina and had a great showing at North Carolina SCY Seniors where she won the 100 free and 100 breast and earned four best times, including breaking the 60-second barrier in the 100 breast. She finished fourth in the 100 breast, fifth in the 200 IM and sixth in both the 100 fly and 200 breast at Juniors East in December.

Her best times include:

  • 50 breast – 27.90
  • 100 breast – 59.54
  • 200 breast – 2:10.04
  • 200 IM – 1:56.25
  • 400 IM – 4:14.57
  • 200 free – 1:47.82
  • 100 free – 49.23
  • 50 free – 23.36
  • 100 fly – 53.41

Scott is currently a junior at Charlotte Country Day School where she is a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. She won the 100 breast and 200 IM at the NCISAA State Championships back in February.

She attended the National Select Camp in 2022.
