Olympian Megan Jendrick Expecting First Child

PHOENIX, Arizona, June 9. OLYMPIC champion Megan Jendrick announced on her Twitter account yesterday that she and her husband, Nathan, are expecting their first child.

"Just found out Nathan and I are having a little boy… October can't come soon enough," Jendrick posted on Twitter yesterday.

Megan Jendrick won two gold medals in the 100 breaststroke and 400 medley relay at the 2000 Olympics. She made the 2008 Olympic team, where she made the final in the 100 breaststroke and won a silver medal for her preliminary duties on the 400 medley relay for the United States. Last summer, Jendrick placed fourth in the 100 breast at the USA Swimming nationals.

Jendrick had been training for competitions before the announcement, and was likely to be a top contender for a national title this summer.
