ATHENS, Ohio, November 4. THE Ohio women's swimming and diving team defeated Bowling Green, 185-108, on Saturday at the Ohio University Aquatic Center.
Ohio won 12 of 16 events and advance to a 3-1 overall record and 2-1 record in the MAC.
Courtney Gallo (Lake Worth, Fla.) took first place in the 1650-yard freestyle (17:30.77). Ilse Petersen (Johannesburg, South Africa) won the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.05). Karen Liddy (Piqua, Ohio) won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.09) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:24.89). Leah Giancarli (Akron, Ohio) won the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.20). Lindsey DeStefano (Wildwood, Mo.) won the 50-yard freestyle (24.60). Lindsay Hamilton (Saskatchewan, Canada) won the 1-meter diving event (250.75) and the 3-meter diving event (269.40). Carine Souza (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) won the 100-yard freestyle (53.23). Emily Wylam (Yorktown, Va.) won the 200-yard backstroke (2:07.59) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:09.88).
