Ohio State Tops Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Januart 7. THE Ohio State women's swimming and diving team defeated the Ohio Bobcats, 163-137, in the Buckeyes' first dual meet of the 2007 season, Saturday at the Ohio University Aquatic Pavilion in Athens. Griet Buelens won three events while Chelsea Davis won two diving events to help the Buckeyes beat the Bobcats. The breaststroke and diving divisions were also instrumental in Ohio State's victorious outcome.

"The divers won meet for us," Jeanne Fleck, head swimming coach said. "Griet really stepped up to the plate. She had a solid 200 fly and 500 free after winning the mile. The breaststrokers turned the meet around for us when they went 1-2-3 in it. The last five events going into relays got us together. They won, which is great, but we really have a lot of work to do before Big Tens to accomplish our goals, but we got the `W'. Now we need to focus in on next weekend."
