NEW COMMIT: Adelyn de Tassanyi of Canton, Michigan, has announced her verbal commitment to North Texas University. Adelyn is a senior at FlexTech High School, Novi Michigan which does not have a swim team. She does her year round swimming with Club Wolverine.
de Tassanyi is primarily a backstroker and IMer. A Winter Juniors qualifier, her best times are (SCY):
- 100 Back 57.45
- 200 Back 2:02.34
- 200 IM 2:09.47
Her best LCM times are:
- 100 Back 1:05.35
- 200 Back 2:20.08
- 200 IM 2:26.02
At last year’s Conference USA Championships de Tassanyi would have been a C finalist in the 200 IM. With her best 100 back time she would have placed in the B final. Two seniors led the Mean Green’s efforts in that event last year. North Texas returns C finalist Annie Barral (59.12) this year. She’ll be a training partner for de Tassanyi for two years. In the 200 back she’d also score points in the C final.
de Tassayni told Swimming World,
“I loved the University as soon as I arrived, the atmosphere of the town and the people that live there truly felt amazing! The swim team and the school equally pleased me with how great they are. I especially loved the resources that the school provided for the team. I can’t wait to be an Eagle! Go Mean Green!”
