New Hampshire Secures First 2021 Verbal from North Penn Aquatic Club’s Maddie Fritz
NEW COMMIT: Breaststroker Madison “Maddie” Fritz of Lansdale, Pa. has handed the University of New Hampshire their first verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond.
She told Swimming World:
“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of New Hampshire where I will continue my academic & athletic career! Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way! Go Wildcats!”
A Futures qualifier, Fritz swims year-round with North Penn Aquatic Club and earned 100% best times at Middle Atlantic Seniors in March 2019 where her highest finish was a ninth-place showing in the 200 breaststroke. Last summer, she recorded a pair of top-12 finishes at Middle Atlantic LCM Seniors before going on to achieve two best times at Geneva Futures.
Her best times include:
- 100 breast – 1:04.87
- 200 breast – 2:23.74
- 200 IM – 2:08.70
- 100 free – 53.27
Also competing for North Penn Senior High School, Fritz has competed at the Pennsylvania AAA State Championships the last three seasons. She finished 10th in the 100 breast as a junior while taking 15th in that event during her sophomore season.
Fritz will make an immediate impact when she suits up for the Wildcats as a member of the class of 2025. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100 breast as well as the B-final of the 200 breast and 200 IM at the 2020 America East Championships where UNH captured their eighth title – the the most in conference history.
