Nebraska Picks Up Scarlet Aquatics’ Gabrielle Baratta

Gabrielle Baratta of Scarlet Aquatics and Northern Valley Old Tappan High School (Old Tappan, NJ) has verbally committed to swim at the University of Nebraska in 2017-18. Baratta is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American who specializes in breaststroke and IM.

Gabrielle was a finalist in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke at the Buffalo LCM Sectional meet in March and a finalist in the 200 breaststroke at the Southern Zone LCM Sectional meet in July where she first made her Summer Junior National cut in the 200 Breaststroke with a 2:38.69.

Baratta holds Winter Junior Nationals cuts in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and Summer Junior National cuts in the 200 breaststroke. Her top times are:

· 100 Breaststroke – 1:04.74 SC/ 1:13.84 LC
· 200 Breaststroke – 2:16.66 SC/ 2:38.69 LC
· 200 IM – 2:08.06 SC/ 2:28.32 LC
· 100 Backstroke – :59.40 SC/ 1:08.37 LC
