NCSA Champion Caroline Foltz Makes Verbal Commitment to Indiana

NEW COMMIT: US Open qualifier Caroline Foltz of St. Louis, Missouri, has announced her verbal commitment to Indiana University beginning in Fall 2023. 

Collegiate swimming runs in her family, as her older sister, Grace Foltz, currently swims for Lynn University.

Foltz will join Reese Tiltmann as a member of the Hoosiers’ Class of 2027.

She told Swimming World:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Indiana University. It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to swim in college and I know I’ve found the perfect place. I want to thank my family, friends, and coaches for their endless love and support. I can’t wait to rep the red and white. GO HOOSIERS”

A talented breaststroker, Foltz does her club swimming with CSP Tideriders and most recently had a breakout meet at the NCSA Championships. There, she won the 200m breast and placed fourth in the 100m breast en route to achieving six best times. Back in March, she also finaled in the 100/200 breast at NCSAs.

Foltz moved to St. Louis in 2021, having previously lived in Salem, Illinois.

Her best times include:

  • 50 breast – 29.82
  • 100 breast – 1:02.93
  • 200 breast – 2:16.06
  • 200 IM – 2:04.40
  • 400 IM – 4:29.37

A rising senior at Cor Jesu Academy, Foltz earned gold in the 100 breast and bronze in the 200 IM at the 2022 Missouri Class 2 State Championships. She also helped her team with the 4×100 free relay and take second in the 4×50 medley relay.

Under head coach Ray Looze, the Hoosiers finished third overall in the team standings at the 2022 Big Ten Championships.
