NCAA To List Two Records at NCAA Championships in 2010

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, December 11. ACCORDING to NCAA officials contacted today by Swimming World, the NCAA will be listing two sets of records during its championship meets next year. Not only will the current standing records be listed, but the records that stood prior to the 2008-09 season will be listed as well. For those that might have been under a rock last year, it was the first and only year the NCAA allowed techsuits to be worn at the NCAA Championships.

"The current plan is to have the heat sheets at the championships provide the records set from 2008-09, as well as the records as they stood prior to the 2008-09 season," NCAA Associate Director of Public and Media Relations Cameron Schuh told Swimming World.

Upon further conversation, Schuh clarified that the NCAA record will still be considered to be the fastest swim in the event of all time, regardless of the year. However, the heat sheets will provide both the actual record and the record as set prior to the 2008-09 season.
