NCAA Announces Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship Field

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, March 6. THE NCAA just announced the final selections for the Division I Women's Championships to be held in Indianapolis later this month. The final selections cleared all the way through line 38 on the psych sheet for every event with a total of 281 swimmers now invited to the meet.

A grand total of a whopping 72 teams earned an invitation to the meet, as the new qualifying rules definitely expanded out the individual qualifiers as opposed to swimmers making NCAAs by being brought in on a deep relay from a top team.

Georgia nearly hit the cap with 17 swimmers making it, and will likely field a full complement of competitors with Laura Ryan being favored to qualify through zone diving trials. Meanwhile, Minnesota is second with a strong tally of 14 qualifiers, with Texas A&M (13), California (12) and Florida (12) rounding out the top five in terms of number of invitees.
