BALTIMORE, Maryland, October 5. There is going to be a bit of sibling rivalry in the Pacific 12 Conference as North Baltimore’s Mary Pelton has chosen to compete at UCLA as part of the Class of 2015.

Pelton, the younger sister of California’s Elizabeth Pelton, is a powerhouse in her own right as the 19th-ranked recruit in the class by CollegeSwimming.com.

Pelton, the second-ranked recruit in the State of Maryland, preps at Roland Park Country School in Baltimore, and is a tremendous freestyler and IMer.

Pelton is a versatile swimmer with a 23.13 in the 40-yard free, a 50.35 in the 100-yard free and a 1:46.59 in the 200-yard free.  She also has a 26.19 in the 50-meter free, a 56.62 in the 100-meter free and a 2:03.79 in the 200-meter free.

Away from the freestyle events, Pelton clocked a 2:00.19 in the 200-yard IM at the Maryland Swimming Championships this year, and also has a 55.60 in the 100-yard backstroke to her credit.
