National Age Group Relay Record Holder Tommy Park Sends 2022 Verbal to Yale

NEW COMMIT: Yale University has added another verbal commitment* for the 2022-23 season and beyond from National Age Group record-holder Tommy Park of La Crescenta, Calif.

He will join Lucius Brown, Jack Maketa, Finn Henry and Nareg Minassian in New Haven as a member of the Bulldogs’ Class of 2026.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am grateful to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Yale University! I look forward to joining Yale’s leading swim program and am thankful for the opportunity to attend a world-class academic institution. I would like to thank everyone who supported me throughout this journey and got me to where I am. Go Bulldogs!!!”

Park, who does his club swimming with Rose Bowl Aquatics, most recently set a new 17-18 NAG record in the 4×100 mixed medley relay. He led off the record-breaking relay in 49.88.

Park also placed 15th in the 200m IM at the TYR 18&U Invite and raced to seventh in the 100 back at Juniors West in 2019.

His best times include:

  • 50 back – 23.07
  • 100 back – 48.43
  • 200 back – 1:46.48
  • 100 fly – 49.73
  • 200 IM – 1:48.44
  • 50 free – 22.36
  • 100 free – 46.66
  • 100 breast – 58.22
  • 200 breast – 2:01.25

A rising senior at Harvard-Westlake School, Park finished 10th in the 200 IM as a freshman at the CIF State Championships. He placed second in that event as well as 11th in the 100 fly at the 2019 CIF Southern Section DI Championships as well.

Under head coach Jim Henry, the Bulldogs finished third overall in the team standings at the 2020 Ivy League Championships.
