N.C. State vs. Campbell

RALEIGH, North Carolina, January 22. THE NC State women's swimming and diving team moved to 5-3 (2-3 ACC) on the season with a 150-99 victory over Campbell on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at Casey Natatorium.

The Wolfpack women and men were also scheduled to compete against East Carolina, but the Pirates cancelled.

State got things started by taking the top two spots in the 200-medley relay with Erica Smith, Anna Linkenauger, Patrice Dason and Ashley Richter winning with a 147.62. Jessica McBroom (10:27.37) and Taryn Shelley (10:31.12) then placed first and second respectively in the 1000 freestyle. McBroom's time marks the second fastest on the team this season in the event, while Shelley's is the third quickest.

Richter (1:54.64), Brianna Grover (1:56.43) and Sarah Merritt (1:57.23) took the top three spots in the 200 freestyle, while Jen Kopenitz (58.66), Amanda Panty (59.28) and Katie Robinson (59.68) did the same in the 100 backstroke. Linkenauger followed by taking first in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:07.22, while Meg Thompson's 1:07.49 was good for third.

Maresa Like-Mathews won the 200 butterfly with a 2:06.33, while McBroom
(2:08.29) and Maggie McEnerney (2:11.82) placed second and third. Lucy Lindsey (24.76) and Morgan Robertson (25.17) grabbed the top two spots in the 50 freestyle, while Lindsey (52.62), Kopenitz (53.73) and Erica Waters (54.29) had the three best showings in the 100 freestyle.

The Wolfpack again had the three top placements in the 200 backstroke behind Grover (2:06.75), Linkenauger (2:08.77) and Robinson (2:09.48), while Grover, Alli Hagan, Robertson and Dason collected first in the 200 freestyle relay on a 1:38.38.
