Mountain West Championships: Day One

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, February 23. THE BYU men and San Diego State women’s swimming and diving teams lead the rankings with 121 and 99 points, respectively, through day one of the 2011 MWC Swimming and Diving Championships. Wyoming is second for the men with 105 points, and on the women’s side, New Mexico has earned 97 points for second place.

Utah is third in the men’s standings with 91 points, followed by TCU (80), UNLV (74) and Air Force (64). For the women, BYU is third with 78 points, followed by UNLV (74), TCU (72), Utah (68), Colorado State (58), Wyoming (57) and Air Force (42). Day two events begin with the women’s 1-meter springboard and women’s and men’s 500-yard freestyle preliminaries at 10 a.m. CT. The finals competition starts at 6 p.m. CT. The 2011 MWC Swimming and Diving Championships conclude Saturday, February 26.
