Morning Swim Show: Naval Academy Swimmers Set for Open Water Nationals

PHOENIX, Arizona, May 16. THE USA Swimming open water nationals begins tomorrow, and on today's edition of The Morning Swim Show we're visited by two members of the U.S. Naval Academy swim team who will be competing in the 5K and 10K swims in Castaic Lake.

For Riley Mita, the venue is very familiar, having grown up a very short distance from the lakeshore. Noah Martin will be in less familiar waters, competing in his first open water race. The two talk about their preparation for the event, which they lament did not include trips to the chilly Chesapeake Bay waters. Being a student at the Naval Academy has more challenges than being a student at a regular university, and the two talk about making the time to fit all responsibilities into their day. Martin just wrapped up his Plebe year, and he talks about what he's learned from the experience. Be sure to visit SwimmingWorld.TV for more video interviews.
