Morning Swim Show, Jan. 8: G. John Mullen’s Tips on Preventing Injury

PHOENIX, Arizona, January 8. G. John Mullen, a regular contributor to SwimmingWorld.com, joins today's edition of The Morning Swim Show to discuss exercises that swimmers should use to prevent injury and get stronger in the water.

Overuse and the repetitive motion of swimming are just two factors that cause injury, Mullen says in this chat with host Jeff Commings, adding that a lack of pre-workout muscle activation can also cause injury and poor stroke efficiency during workout. Mullen talks about some exercises that can be done to make muscles ready for hard training, and mentions the best exercise for swimmers of all ages and abilities to use in order to improve not only their streamline positions, but overall core strength. Be sure to visit SwimmingWorld.TV for more video interviews, and all of Mullen's dryland exercise tips.
