Morning Swim Show: 27 School Records = Great First Season at UNM for Kunio Kono


PHOENIX, Arizona, April 4. KUNIO Kono joins today's edition of The Morning Swim Show to talk about his successful first season as coach at the University of New Mexico.

Kono talks about the multiple school records that have fallen this season, and how the women's team has far exceeded his expectations. He also details his background working with coaches at Arizona, Alabama and UNLV, and what it was like to race his former team at the Mountain West Conference championships. In addition to working with the college team, Kono is training 2010 world champion Naoya Tomita, who is looking to make the world championships team for Japan at next week's trials.
