Montana State Champion Sawyer Keyes Commits to Seton Hall University

NEW COMMIT: Seton Hall University has recently received a new commitment for the fall of 2020 from Sawyer Keyes of Missoula, Mont.

Primarily a distance freestyler, Keyes does his club swimming with Billings Aquatic Club and owns two Winter Juniors standards. He most recently competed at the Montana SCY Championships where he collected three silver medals and three bronze medals after recording a pair of best times at Juniors West in December. This past summer, he won the 100m/200m free combo at the Montana LCM Championships before going on to place 10th in the 800m free and 11th in the 400m free at Des Moines Futures.

His best times include:

  • 200 free – 1:41.37
  • 500 free – 4:33:34
  • 1000 free – 9:22.40
  • 1650 free – 15:46.41
  • 400m free – 4:05.05
  • 800m free – 8:31.49

A current senior at Hellgate High School, Keyes is a six-time Montana State Championship finalist and has earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors. He won the 200/500 free as a junior after finishing third and second, respectively, in those events during his sophomore season.
