Carter Grimes has announced his verbal commitment to the University of Missouri. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American trains with the Sandpipers of Nevada.

Grimes had a great long course season, swimming the 400 IM and 1500 freestyle at Olympic Trials. He finished the summer with best times at US Open and Junior Nationals, highlighted by a third place finish in the 200 butterfly and fifth in the 400 IM at Juniors.

In short course, the high school senior’s best times are:

500/1000/1650 Freestyle: 4:24.35/9:14.54/15:21.33

400 IM: 3:50.90

Mizzou finished fifth at last season’s SEC Championships, just 13 points behind Alabama. Grimes will likely swim the endurance trifecta for the Tigers. He would have finished 21st in the 500, 19th in the 400 IM, and 20th in the 1650 at last season’s meet.
