Missy Franklin Engaged to Hayes Johnson

Missy Franklin announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend Hayes Johnson on Sunday.

Franklin announced the news on Instagram, along with a couple of photos, from Saturday’s momentous occasion.

“Thank you for making this the easiest answer to any question I’ve ever been asked. Yes. Yes. Yes. A million times over,” she wrote. “I will never be able to thank you enough. For making last night the best of my life. For being the most thoughtful and loving man I’ve ever known. For being my best friend, my soulmate, my safe haven, and now my FIANCE! I am about to get my Johnson on!!! I cannot wait to see what our forever has in store for us. I. Love. You.”

Franklin is a two-time U.S. Olympian. She has won five gold medals and one bronze in her career. She won four gold and a bronze in London in 2012 as a 17-year-old, and one gold in Rio in 2016. She holds the record for most FINA world championship titles by a female swimmer with 11.
