Missy Franklin and her parents, D.A. and Dick Franklin, joined NBC’s TODAY show Wednesday morning in New York City to discuss the release of the new book they co-authored: Relentless Spirit: The Unconventional Raising of a Champion.
In an interview with Matt Lauer, Missy Franklin discussed how she first fell in love with the water, and then her parents explained how they nurtured that passion and how they helped her get through disappointing stretches like the Olympic Games this summer. Missy also explained how she’s trying to rekindle that passion in training right now.
