Miriam Sheehan broke her third National Age Group record this weekend when she clocked a 28.52 in the girls’ 10-and-under 50-meter free. Her record-breaking trifecta took place at the Arizona Swimming LC Age Group State Championships hosted by Sheehan’s own Phoenix Swim Club.

Sheehan entered the meet with a 29.29 seed time, but blew away her time and narrowly bested the previous record of 28.59 set by Lia Neal back in 2005. Neal currently swims for Stanford and is an Olympic bronze medalist and World University Games gold medalist. She also placed second in the 100-yard free at and third in the 200-yard free at NCAAs.

Her 50 free record came after NAG record-breaking performances in the 100-meter fly (1:08.22) and the 50-meter fly (29.84).

Sheehan holds a number of other NAG records including the 50-meter back, 100-meter back, and the 50-yard fly.
