Minnesota vs. Wisconsin

MADISON, Wisconsin, October 28. THE University of Minnesota men's and women's swimming and diving teams each defeated host Wisconsin on the road Friday night at the Natatorium in Madison, Wisc. The Gopher men opened their season and Big Ten action with a 183-105 victory to move to 1-0 on the season and 1-0 in league competition, while the Gopher women improved to 4-0 on the year and 2-0 in the Big Ten with a 177-121 win over the Badgers.

"This was our first meet together this season and I thought both the men and the women put together great performances against a quality opponent," head men's and women's coach Kelly Kremer said. "I thought the women were impressive and this was an outstanding start to the season for the men."
