Minnesota Adds Jack Poletto, Conor Murphy

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, May 6. UNIVERSITY of Minnesota men's swimming and diving head coach Dennis Dale announced today that Jack Poletto (Aurora, Ill.) and Conor Murphy (St. Louis, Mo.) have signed Acceptance of Admission forms to attend the University of Minnesota.

Poletto, a senior at Waubonsie Valley High School, recently scored twice at the Illinois State Championships, finishing 10th in the 100 butterfly and 15th in the 100 backstroke. He took ninth in the 100 fly as a junior. Poletto also competes for Delta Aquatic and coach Dery Leubner. He is coached by Chad Ganden at Waubonsie High School.

Poletto's top times are 50.63 in the 100 fly and 52.19 in the 100 backstroke (short course yards).

Murphy is a senior at Christian Brothers College High School where he finished seventh in the 100 free and eighth in the 50 free at the Missouri State High School Championships. He is a two-time First Team All-Metro selection and accumulated 11 state medals during his high school career. Murphy also competes for Nick Rudich at Parkway Swim Club, which has produced several Gopher swimmers in the past. That list includes All-American Mike Woodson (2004-08) and current Gopher women's swimmers Danielle and Kelsey Ridder.

Murphy's top times are 21.45 in the 50 free and 46.90 in the 100 free (short course yards).
