Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association: Day Two

HOLLAND, Michigan, February 16. DEFENDING MIAA men's champion Kalamazoo has built up a 48-point lead, while a victory in the 400-yard medley relay Wednesday night propelled Hope into a narrow lead over seven-time defending women's champion Calvin at the MIAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the Holland Community Aquatic Center.

While the Hornets won only one of six events Wednesday, their depth throughout each event has allowed them to build up a lead over second-place Hope. In the women's competition, Hope won five consecutive events after Calvin won the 200-yard freestyle relay to take a 1.5-point lead over the Knights.

Competition resumes Friday with preliminaries at 10 a.m. and finals at 5:30 p.m.
