Michael Phelps Puts End Date on Career

ANN ARBOR, Michigan, February 13. JUNE 30, 2015…that's the day Michael Phelps promised he would retire from the sport of swimming and give the rest of the world a break, at least if you believe Phelps in an article on SI.com.

According to the article, when asked whether Phelps would attempt to make the 2024 Olympics in a similar bid as 41-year-old Dara Torres is attempting this year for the 2008 Beijing Games, Phelps stated he's not swimming "a day past the age of 30. Once I hit that age, if I'm still going, the cap and goggles and suit are hanging up, and I'm done," Phelps told SI.com. "I'm out of here."

He went on to talk about working with his agent Peter Carlisle after swimming, and his thoughts in working in the big business of Olympic-level sports.
