ORLANDO, Florida, March 22. MICHAEL Andrew stepped up for the prelims of the 200 individual medley this morning at the NCSA short course junior nationals, breaking his own national age group record in the process.

Swimming in the 29th heat next to 15-16 national age group record holder Andrew Seliskar, Michael Andrew posted a 1:47.42. That beat out the 1:47.44 he posted last month in Wisconsin.

Andrew qualified second for tonight’s finals behind Seliskar’s 1:46.62, but Andrew is scratching finals to prepare for the 50 free, where he will aim for another national age group record. He has a 19.85 to his credit already.
