Annie Kyriakidis has verbally committed to the University of Miami. The high school senior will head to Florida from Nashville, Tennessee where she trains with Ensworth Aquatics.

Kyriakidis told Swimming World,

“I loved every single university that I visited, but when I stepped on campus I knew Miami was where I wanted to be. I didn’t think it could get any better but then I met the team. I’m so excited to be apart of such a close and supportive environment with Coach Andy, Caroline, and the girls.”

Her best times are:

  • 100 Breast 1:02.04
  • 200 Breast 2:13.52
  • 200 IM 2:00.08
  • 200 Fly 1:59.06

Kyriakidis attends Pope John Paul II High School in Hendersonville. She represented her school at the 2016 Tennessee High School state championships in February. At that meet she finished fourth in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke events. She also swam the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.

Miami was eighth of 13 teams at ACCs in 2016. Swimming her lifetime best, she would have been a 100 breaststroke B finalist and the Hurricanes’ top finisher. She’d be in the same position in the 200 breaststroke and would also be a team leader. In the 200 IM and butterfly she would also land in the B final with her best times. Julia Schippert was Miami’s only breaststroker at ACCs last year, though she’ll graduate in May and will not overlap with Kyriakidis.
