OWINGS MILLS, Maryland, February 15. MCDONOGH School's Eagles emerged as the team championships of the MIAA "A" Conference Championships Feb. 11 in Owings Mills. They defeated the Loyola Blakefield Dons, who were trying to capture their 19th straight conference title. The final score was 392-365.5. Archbishop Spaulding captured the "B" portion of the conference championships with 353 points.
McDonogh's 200 medley relay of Andrew Sovero, Collin Turner, John Sanabia and Alex Cosgarea set the only conference record (1:34.37).
Maryland swimmers will continue competing at regional meets this weekend, with the Maryland state meet being held in College Park Feb. 24-25.
