Meet of the Week, Recap: SUNY Oneonta Sweeps Utica

UTICA, New York, November 15. SUNY Oneonta swept Utica College in a SwimmingWorldMagazine.com Meet of the Week. The women claimed a 192-89 victory, while the men picked up a 195-72 triumph.

Chris Johnson and Joseph Farrel paced the SUNY Oneonta men with four titles each. First, Johnson leadoff the 400-yard medley relay squad of Johnson, Andrew Mowson, Bruce Wemple and Matthew Sudran with a winning time of 4:00.61.

He returned the next event with a triumphant time of 11:19.74 in the 1000 freestyle, before grabbing wins in the 100 back (1:01.59) and 200 back (2:21.18).

Farrel took wins in the 50 free (23.54), 100 free (52.29), 200 free (1:50.15) and 500 free (5:16.33).

Matthew Galbraith gave Utica its lone win of the day with a 2:39.86 in the 200 breast.

Michele Sano led the way for SUNY Oneonta on the women's side with three titles. She leadoff the 400 medley relay quartet of Sano, Jacqueline Haight, Michelle Horner and Caitlin O'Donnell to a win in 4:26.96. She also touched first in the 100 back (1:05.83) and 200 back (2:24.14).

Janet Rolf was the lead swimmer for the Utica women with three titles of her own. She won the 100 breast (1:12.14), 200 breast (2:36.15) and 200 IM (2:24.51).
